Go-Mo-activated carbon catalysts (commercial and prepared from lignine orga
nosolv) are obtained, modifying the preparation conditions. The catalysts t
hus obtained maintain the initial surface area of the support and show high
surface acidity. The interaction of the metals with the surface of the car
bon is weak. Due to the fact that these catalysts present a high conversion
of indol and a lower conversion of thiophene, it can be concluded that CoM
o/activated carbon catalysts have greater hydrogenation activity.
