Abstract
The family Meliaceae is represented by 7 genera and more than 300 species i n Mexico and CentralAmerica. The isolation of several limonoids from Guarea grandiflora, Swietenia humilis, Cedrela oaxacensis and C. odorata has been reported earlier. From C. salvadorensis and C. ciliolata, beta-sitosterol, gedunin and a C-23 epimeric photogedunin mixture were isolated. This is th e first report on the isolation of photogedunin from C. ciliolata, though t his compound has been isolated earlier from C. odorata and C. salvadorensis .
