SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW DIMERIC AMINOALANES

The dimeric aminoalanes [Me(2)AIN(C6H11)(2)](2) 1. (Me(2)AINBu(2)(1))( 2) 2. [(2.4.6-Me(3)C(6)H(2))(2)AINH(2)](2) 4. [Cl(2)AIN(C6H11)(2)] 5, (Me(2)AINHCH(2)C(5)H(4)N-2)(2) 6 and the ammonia adduct (2,4.6-Me(3)C( 6)H(2))(3)AI . NH3 3 have been prepared by the reaction of substituted alanes with different amines. They have been fully characterized by e lemental analyses, IR, NMR and mass spectrometry. The crystal structur es of 1, 5 and 6 have been determined. Those of 1 and 6 display slight ly folded four-membered rings with alternating aluminium and nitrogen atoms. while 5 consists of a square-planar AI(2)N(2) ring system.
