A purification process of crude phytomenadione (vitamin K-1) by molecular d
istillation using a short-path wiped-film evaporator and by adsorption is s
tudied. The purification procedure is documented by evaluation of samples f
rom the individual stages of the process by means of UV and visible spectro
scopies, TLC, refraction index measurements, and further methods. Satisfact
ory parameters were found in a material obtained as the distillate from the
molecular evaporator, particularly after its adsorption on a phenolformald
ehyde-resin-based ion exchanger.
