Reboxetine - A review of its use in depression

Sources: Medical literature published in any language since 1966 on reboxet ine, identified using AdisBase (a proprietary database of International, Au ckland; New Zealand), Medline and EMBASE. Additional references were identi fied from the reference lists of publish articles. Bibliograph cal informat ion, including contributory unpublished data, was also requested from the c ompany developing the drug. Search strategy: AdisBase search terms were 'reboxetine', FCE-20124', 'rebo xetine mesilate', 'reboxetine methanesulfonate' and 'Edronax'. Medline and EMBASE search terms were 'reboxetine'. Searches were last updated 2 June 19 99. Selection: Studies in patients with depression who received reboxetine. inc lusion of studies was based mainly on the methods section of the trials. Wh en available, large, well controlled trials with appropriate statistical me thodology were preferred. Relevant pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data are also included.
