Ln this paper, we describe a method for region-based adaptive slicing. Wher
eas in traditional adaptive slicing the user can impose a single surface fi
nish (cusp height) requirement for the whole object, in region-based adapti
ve slicing, user has the flexibility to impose different surface finish req
uirements on different surfaces of the model. We describe the method and it
s implementation. Two example parts were built using the slicing technique
