Ultrastructural aspects of the reproductive morphology of Centropages typicus Kroyer, 1849 (Copepoda, Calanoida)

Ultrastructural studies have been conducted on the male and female of Centr opages typicus to analyze spermatophore transfer mechanisms. Careful observ ations have been made on the genital area of both sexes and of the mating a ppendages in the male. In particular, a detailed description of the first t wo somites of the female urosome is necessary to correctly interpret the st rategies employed for positioning the spermatophore.
