Samples of fruit and vegetables analysed by the "multimethod" S19 were dete
rmined by thin-layer chromatography with automated multiple development (AM
D) and UV-detection. It was found that the eluates of the mini silica gel c
olumn were not suited for the determination of agents because of strong mat
rix influences. After the purification of the solutions by solid-phase extr
action on an amino cartridge the disturbing accompanying substances of the
eluates 4 and 5 could be removed to that extent that the agents chloroxuron
, imazalil and thiodicarb were detectable in the matrices of current, kiwi,
mango, paprika, peach and grapes. In some cases, detection limits were ach
ieved that satisfy the German legal limits. However, rates of retrieval cou
ld not be determined within the framework of this work.
