F. Prieto et al., Channel microband electrode arrays for mechanistic electrochemistry. Two-dimensional voltammetry: Electrode kinetics, ELECTROANAL, 11(8), 1999, pp. 541-545
The theory of "two-dimensional voltammetry" using arrays of gold channel mi
croband electrodes ranging in size from the millimeter to the micrometer sc
ale is extended to permit the deduction of electrochemical rate constants t
hrough the analysis of hydrodynamic voltammograms as a function of both ele
ctrode size and electrolyte flow rate (convection). The technique is applie
d to the reduction of p-chloranil and the oxidation of 2,3,7,8-tetramethoxy
thianthrene both in acetonitrile solution and electrochemical rate constant
s are reported.
