The films of an amphiphilic C-60-EDTA (C(60)EA) and its tetramethyl ester (
C60EM), prepared both by drop-coating and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique,
were studied by cyclic voltammetry in acetonitrile solutions of tetra-12-b
utylammonium hexafluorophosphate as the supporting electrolyte. The drop-co
ated film of C60EM displayed four pairs of redox peaks, which vanished afte
r a few cycles due to the film dissolution. For the LB film of C60EM, three
irreversible reduction peaks were observed. Both the drop-coated and the L
B film of C(60)EA showed two irreversible reduction peaks.
