Abstract
The production and absorption of J/psi at SPS energy in p-A and A-A collisi ons have been simulated by using the General Cascade Program (GCP). Nucleon absorption mechanism and comover absorption mechanism are considered to in vestigate the J/psi suppression. The results agree well with experimental d ata of J/psi production, except for the data in Pb-Pb collision.
