This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a multidiscip
linary rehabilitation programme offered to a general population with 9
0 dags of sick-leave due to non-specific muscuto-skeletal pain. The re
sults concerning return to work and re-sick-listing during a follow-up
period of five years were evaluated for Swedes and immigrants separat
ely, Compared to a control group, the rehabilitation offer resulted in
improved work stability after work return among the Swedes, The immig
rants, as a group, did not benefit from the programme compared to the
controls in primary care.
