Abstract
Electron spin resonance has been used to characterise free radicals fo rmed by the reactions of photochemically generated tert-butoxyl radica ls with alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, alpha-terpinene, gamma-terpinene, c ar-2-ene, car-3-ene and limonene. The spectra have been interpreted us ing computer analysis and simulation and assigned to substituted cyclo hexenyl or cyclohexadienyl radicals formed by abstraction of a hydroge n atom from the parent terpene.
