Phase relations and TiO2 solubility in the RbPO3-RbVO3 system were studied
in the temperature range 700-1000 degrees C. Small V2O5 additions were foun
d to lower the solidification point of Rb2O-P2O5-TiO2 melts. The compounds
forming on melt solidification were identified and characterized by infrare
d and electronic spectroscopy techniques. The thermal stability of the comp
ounds was studied, and their crystallization fields were outlined.
