Df. Chen et al., Design and implementation of a novel permanent magnet synchronous drive with a new PWM strategy, INT J ELECT, 86(8), 1999, pp. 1013-1029
This paper proposes a new pulse width modulation strategy for a voltage-sou
rce current-regulated soft switching inverter feeding an ac motor. By simpl
y adjusting the three-phase current commands, the overall number of commuta
tions per output cycle can be reduced. Based on this new strategy, the clos
ed-loop speed control and position control of the ac drive system have been
designed to achieve high performance dynamic responses. A 16-bit microproc
essor system (80196MC) has been used to execute all of the control algorith
ms. Several experimental results validate the theoretical analysis. This pa
per presents a new direction in design and implementation of a high efficie
ncy and high performance ac drive system.
