M. Kusunoki et al., STAPLED FISTULECTOMY TO TREAT ENTEROENTERIC FISTULAS IN CROHNS-DISEASE, SURGERY TODAY-THE JAPANESE JOURNAL OF SURGERY, 27(6), 1997, pp. 574-575
We report herein our technique of performing stapled fistulectomy as m
inimum surgery for the resection of nine entero-enteric fistulas in si
x patients with Crohn's disease. The surgical outcome was successful i
n all patients. It would seem that fistulous sites without a severe af
fected lesion are a favorable indication for this procedure and we rec
ommend this simplified fistulectomy for selected conditions in Crohn's
disease.
