Triply differential cross sections and spin asymmetries for (e,2e) reaction
s on the 1s1/2 state of intermediate- and high-Z atoms in coplanar asymmetr
ic geometries are analyzed within the framework of the relativistic distort
ed wave Born approximation. Specific signatures of the relativistic nature
of the electron-electron interaction, and of the electron-residual ion inte
raction, are identified.
