Abstract
We analyze the problems associated with the generation of coherent radiatio n by an e beam, traversing an undulator magnet, with an initial energy-phas e correlation. The mechanisms of the process are explained and the role pla yed by the bunching is clarified. The effect of the correlation on the stim ulated part of the emission is also discussed.
