Liquid-liquid equilibria have been measured for the systems ethanol + water
+ propylene, and 2-propanol + water + propylene, from subcritical to near-
critical conditions (313-363 K), to investigate the applicability of propyl
ene as a solvent for the extraction of alcohols from aqueous solutions. The
favorable effect of temperature on the alcohol distribution coefficient is
confirmed for both systems.
