Abstract
Photobromination of naphthalene with molecular bromine gives only one stere oisomer alpha,2 beta,3 alpha,4 beta-tetrabromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen e (yield 90%); dehydrobromination of which results in the formation of 1,3- dibromonaphthalenein 88% yield.
