Abstract
Past presidents of ACPA and NASPA,were surveyed regarding their advice for individuals beginning their first entry-level position and for seasoned pro fessionals planning to move into Chief Student Affairs Officers (CSAO) posi tions. Twenty-five individuals responded to the survey. Several of the them es that emerged included: pursue opportunities for professional development , develop strong leadership skills, and contemplate your personal and famil y concerns.
