Preparation of polymer-bound 1H-benzotriazole, a new potential scaffold for the compilation of organic molecule libraries

An efficient method for the preparation of polymer-bound 1H-benzotriazole h as been devised. The reaction of Merrifield resin with sodium 3-nitro-4-ami nophenolate and the subsequent reduction and reaction with isoamyl nitrite afforded benzotriazole preloaded resin. A series of tertiary amines and a t osylamide were prepared using solid-phase benzotriatole-mediated transforma tions.
