Abstract
A new solid-phase synthesis of 2,4,6-trisubstituted pyridines from hydroxya cetophenones is described. The synthesis includes Claisen-Schmidt and Micha el reactions on Wang resin to produce 1,5-diketones, which are then cyclize d with ammonium acetate. The pyridine substituents are introduced independe ntly and are derived from readily available, diverse sets of starting mater ials. The method is suitable for the synthesis of arrays of compounds.
