Abstract
A Lax-Wendroff-like finite-difference representation for the transport of m ultiple chemical components is formulated via integer variables. This repre sentation ensures exactly the desired conservation laws at all times and ac hieves low numerical diffusivity. The algorithm requires less memory as com pared to its floating-point predecessor, hence much less than standard latt ice gas and lattice Boltzmann methods to date. Analytical and numerical stu dies demonstrate that the algorithm is stable under subsonic conditions. (C ) 1999 Academic Press.
