Single crystals of the general formula [A](x)[(A',B)O-3] were grown from K2
CO3 flux. Sr3NiPtO6,Sr3CuPtO6, [Sr](1.10)[(Cu0.38Rh0.62)O-3], [Ba](1.16)[(N
i0.23Rh0.77)O-3], [Ba](1.06)[RhO3], [Ba](1.18)[(CU0.29Rh0.71)O-3], [Ba](1.0
6)[(Ni0.44Ir0.56)O-3], and [Sr](1.25)[RhO3], have been synthesized and char
acterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and electron
microprobe analysis. Crystal morphology and composition have been shown to
be highly dependent on several synthetic parameters including temperature a
nd the concentration of alkaline earths in the flux. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scie
