Several equivalent circuit models have been considered in the literature fo
r the analysis of the ac impedance spectra of a semiconductor I solution in
terface. Especially for the case of a semiconductor metal sulfide of the sy
stem CuxZn(1-x)S the electrical analog of the construction leads to a frequ
ency dependent behavior which has revealed the need for a different method
of analysis. An equivalent circuit consisting of an infinite number of seri
es RSSCSS elements in parallel, having overlapping time constants and sugge
sting a continuous distribution of relaxation times, is proposed. Fitting o
f the experimental data along with a preliminary estimation for the charact
eristic parameters N-D and V-FB of the specific cell has shown the suitabil
ity of the method. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
