2,2-Difluorovinylphosphine as well as its oxide and borane-complex are synt
hesized in high yields via the P-trifluoroethylation of lithium diphenylpho
sphide with 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl trifluoromethanesulfonate, followed by deh
ydrofluorination with potassium tert-butoxide. The reactions of 2,2-difluor
ovinylphosphine oxide and borane-complex with hydride, S- and N-nucleophile
s proceed via an addition-elimination process to afford mono- or nonfluorov
inylphosphorus compounds and carbamoylmethylphosphine oxides. (C) 1999 Else
