On the status of radiation protection in nuclear power plants.

Within the scape of radiation protection tasks to be carried out in nuclear power plants, one can essentially make a distinction between three differe nt arena: Protection of the environment under normal operating conditions; Protection of personnel under normal operating conditions; Precautionary me asures for incidents. Within this contribution, experiences made in the pas t with regard to the two first-mentioned areas, are to be analysed. On the basis of this analysis of statics, development aims for future reactors can be derived. The third area mentioned will be dealt with later in another c ontribution.
