Abstract
Thick films of photoconducting CdS reveal superior photosensitivity of the order of 10(8)-10(9) which is the highest reported so far for CdS photocond uctors. In this article (a) general theory of photoconductivity is presente d initially for the ready reference of the readers, (b) salient aspects of the preparation of thick films of photoconducting CdS are mentioned, and (c ) photoconducting and allied properties of CdS thick films are reviewed.
