H. Ayub et al., PHASE-TRANSFORMATIONS AND MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES IN COBALT FREE AND LOW COBALT MARAGING STEELS, Materials science and technology, 13(2), 1997, pp. 110-116
Phase transformations and magnetic propel ties in cobalt free and low
cobalt, chromium containing maraging steels have been investigated. Th
e aging response and microstructural developments have been monitored
in the temperature range between 450 and 700 degrees C. The hardening
following aging, occurred as a result of the formation of Ni3Ti and Fe
7Mo6 phases. The magnetic properties of these alloys were also determi
ned in specimens aged between 400 and 750 degrees C. The coercive forc
e and saturation magnetisation have been related to the reverted auste
nite content.
