Abstract
We have investigated terahertz (THz) radiation from two-dimensional (2D) fr ee carrier plasma oscillations in selectively doped GaAs/AlGaAs single quan tum wells by time-resolved THz emission spectroscopy. By varying the excita tion wavelength and power, we are able to discriminate between the plasmon excitations due to coherent instantaneous polarizations and incoherent curr ent surge/impulsive heating process.
