Abstract
A revision of the genus Bovistoides Lloyd was undertaken, as a result of wh ich it was confirmed that the holotype B. simplex, is a weathered, imperfec t specimen of Myriostoma coliforme. Consequently Bovistoides becomes a syno nym of Myriostoma as suggested by Long and Sunhede. The second known specie s included by Lloyd in the genus -B. torrendii- is the holotype of a new ge nus proposed by Pence de Leon, namely Acutocapillitium.
