Myxomycetes from a seasonal tropical forest on the Pacific Coast of Mexico

We conducted the first inventory of myxomycetes from a seasonal tropical fo rest. We present an annotated species list for the 41 taxa found at the Cha mela Biological Station (Mexico) and illustrate the richness of myxomycete species in this kind of forest. Cribraria cancellata var. fusca, Diachea si lvaepluvialis, Physarum javanicum, Ph. viride var. aurantium and Stemonitop sis aff. gracilis are new records for Mexico. SEM photographs of spores tha t reveal features not previously described in some species are included. A brief description and discussion of the patterns of distribution of selecte d species also are provided.
