Abstract
A new SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) 10Gbps a-fiber ring network syste m, named ITS-9600J, has been developed. The 2-fiber ring network is a self- healing type ring network that adopts the UPSR (Uni-Directional Path Switch ed Ring) architecture. The ITS-9600J has SDH STM-64 interfaces for the aggr egate line and provides any combinations of SDH STM-1,STM-4 and STM-0 inter faces for the tributary. The aggregate interface can adopt the optical ampl ifier (ITS-OAR) as the option, which makes the transmission distance longer between the two add/drop multiplexers. The ITS-9600J will be used in the c ommunication market in Japan.
