I. Torok et T. Bondar, Determination of Ti and CaK alpha(5) and K alpha(6) X-ray satellite energies at He ion bombardment, NUCL INST B, 154(1-4), 1999, pp. 272-275
Above Z = 19 in the literature one can not find data on the energies of the
K alpha(5) and K alpha(6) multiple ionization satellite lines, only an ave
rage K alpha L-2 energy was measured in most cases. The reason is that at e
lectron or photon excitation the higher Z elements produce very low intensi
ty K alpha L-2 satellite lines (practically not seen), and at higher Z proj
ectiles the additional M, N,... satellites wash the different KL transition
s into a common wide peak. Using We ions of about 3-6 MeV energy one can re
solve the two most intense components of the K alpha L-2 group for the 4th
row elements of the periodic table. We determined these satellite energies
for Ca and Ti by different ways. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights
