Abstract
A functional method is introduced which allows to derive exact solutions fo r a wide class of Volterra integro-differential equations in terms of Besse l-Clifford functions of half-integer order. These equations are applied to the description of chemical reactions and to the modelling of protein dynam ics in non-Markovian cases, thus generalizing the usual Kramers approach in an easily computable way.
