Influence of vertical synoptic currents of chlorophyll "a" distribution inthe Black Sea

For the estimation of influence of vertical synoptic currents of the distri bution of chlorophyll "a" concentration the characteristics of their spatia l structure have been designed according to the data of surveys of the dens ity field. The comparisons of chlorophyll concentration and vertical curren ts have been carried out for two complex surveys in the Black Sea in summer 1991 and in winter 1994. The results have shown the presence of qualitativ e and quantitative Signs of coincidence of these characteristics and, speci fically, significant positive value of correlation coefficient (0.65 for su mmer and 0.83 for winter survey).
