Hydrochemical data of five cruises to the Sea of Okhotsk in 1989-1997 are s
ummarized and maps of phosphates, nitrates silicates, ammonia, organic form
s of nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as temperature, and salinity are deve
loped. The developed maps allow us to differentiate quasi-stationary meso-s
cale eddies. Analyzing the joint fields of temperature, salinity, and nutri
ents, we have managed to verify the scheme of currents in the Sta of Okhots
k and determine small-scale eddies (20-40 km) over Sakhalin shelf.
