The data on the species composition of the shells of plankton foraminifera
(PF), from the Maastrichtian sediments, revealed by 30 boreholes and 4 sect
ions in the region of the marginal shelf seas of Australia and New Zealand
were analysed. Three levels of the solution were distinguished on the basis
of the PF safety and the composition of their complexes. The three levels
correspond to the following paleodepths: the first level corresponds to the
paleodepth above 1500 m; the second from 1500 to 2300 m; the third lower 2
300 m. The first level is divided into three sublevels: the first - above 1
50 m, the secons - from 150-600 m, the third - from 600 to 1500 m.
