Abstract
A general model of multicomponent pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is p resented which describes the operation of multi-column PSA installatio ns. The individual columns can be packed with one or two layers of dif ferent adsorbents. All the basic steps of modern PSA cycles are taken into account. The operation of a large-scale PSA installation is analy sed using a hydrogen purification plant as a test case. (C) 1997 Elsev ier Science S.A.
