Abstract
The glycoalkaloid solasonine and a new spirosten delta-lactone saponin, fol iumin A. characterized by NMR spectroscopy, MS and chemical methods as (22S , 23R, 25R)-3 beta,15 alpha,23-trihydroxyspirost-5-en-26-one 3-O-{alpha-L-r hamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->4)]-beta-D-glucopyrano side}, have been isolated from the ethanolic extract of the aerial parts of Solanum amygdalifolium.
