A new kind of stable suspensions of nm-ferroelectric particles has bee
n prepared using chemical precipitation and adapted stabilizers. We ob
serve both a field-induced decrease and enhancement of the transparenc
y but under different field conditions, which we connect with differen
t kinds of agglomerates. A factorial separation of the transparency, i
.e. into Kerr activity and field-induced opaqueness and the use of rat
e equations for the calculation of the agglomerate number densities ap
pears to be possible.
