Two-dimensional turbulent gas now and particle trajectories under the
influence of an electric field are calculated by using the commercial
computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package, FLUENT, combined with a fi
nite-volume solver for the electric field and ion charge. Particle cha
rge is determined from local electric conditions and cell residence ti
me. Particle charge density is evaluated hom the Lagrangian calculatio
n of the particle motion. The effects of particulate space charge on t
he electric field and current now are investigated.
