The Hall effect was investigated for YbNi2B2C borocarbide in magnetic field
s up to 13 T and in the temperature interval 1.5 less than or equal to T le
ss than or equal to 300 K. The Hall coefficient R-H was found to be negativ
e at all temperatures. The absolute value of R-H increases approximately th
ree times with decreasing temperature from 300 to 4.2 K; R-H (4.2 K) = -4.0
x 10(-8) Omega cm T-1. Pronounced temperature dependence of RH correlates
with the anomalous drop of resistivity at T < 30 K (both were not observed
for the other RNi2B2C borocarbides) and seems to be connected with the repo
rted earlier moderate heavy fermion-like behavior in YbNi2B2C. (C) 1999 Pub
