Abstract
Polystyrene-SH resin, prepared from Merrifield resin in two steps, was conv erted to polystyrene-SO2-CH2-NC in three steps. This resin functions as a s olid-phase equivalent of p-tolylsulfonylmethyl isocyanide (TosMIC). Thus, r eaction with aromatic aldehydes and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide as base yi elds 5-aryloxazoles. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
