Water-soluble complexes of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) with meso-tetraphenylpo
rphyrin and poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) with meso-tetraphenylporphyrin and ful
lerene C-60 were prepared. The comparative spectral analysis of these syste
ms with the poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)-fullerene C-60 system showed that, in
the porphyrin-containing systems, the interaction between the system compon
ents and the polymer can be interpreted in terms of molecular adsorption. O
n the basis of the analytical data, it is suggested that an increase in the
relative C-60 concentration in the ternary complex in water is associated
with a rather low local polarizability of the polymer molecules which form
a shell around this center, compared to the polymer-fullerene binary system
, where a significantly greater number of polymer macromolecules are associ
ated around C-60.
