Abstract
Low-molecular-mass (M-n = 600-11000) amphiphilic N-vinylpyrrolidone polymer s bearing stearyl end groups were synthesized by free-radical polymerizatio n in the presence of carboxyl- and amino-containing mercaptans, followed by treatment of the resulting polymers with stearylamine and stearyl chloride , respectively. For the dilute aqueous solutions of the amphiphilic polymer s, the values of K-m and alpha in the eta(spec)/c plot were determined.
