Abstract
Dendroligotrichum dendroides and Dawsonia superba, which belong to two excl usively Gondwanalandic genera of the Polytrichales, accumulate the same typ e of coumarins as species of the cosmopolitan genera of that order. The str uctures of the isolated compounds, one of which is a new natural product, w ere elucidated spectroscopically.
