Ap. Denisyuk et al., Combustion of condensed systems consisting of HMX and a binder capable of self-sustained combustion, COMB EXPL R, 34(5), 1998, pp. 534-542
The combustion of various systems consisting of HMX and an active binder th
at is capable of self-sustained combustion is studied. It is established th
at, depending on the HMX particle size and the ratio of the combustion rate
s of the HMX and binder, the fuel can burn as a unified system, a sequentia
l model, or through interlayers of the binder. Therefore, the combustion ra
te of the system can be decreases, increased, or remain unchanged with the
introduction of HMX.
