Abstract
The destructive powers of several contact explosive charges of various desi gns are compared. It is shown that the effectiveness of a contact explosion increases with the density and detonation velocity of explosives and the c loseness of the charge to the surface to be blasted and is a function of th e acoustical properties of the medium to be blasted.
